A few months ago, while I was in college, I posted a Morning Routine blog post. Things haven't changed that much since then, but I figured I would do an updated post anyway. Now that it's summer I've stopped drinking tea every morning and I've started drinking a smoothie
with my breakfast. I add in some protein powder too when I've been working out, like this morning, or if I plan to work out that day. I'm still eating my porridge though, which I really love all year round. oats have so many health benefits from lowering cholesterol to stabilising your blood sugars, and I find it keeps me really full for a long time too.
Apart from what I eat in the mornings, I've started doing stretches as soon as I get out of bed. If you haven't heard of Sun Salutations, they're great for stretching the whole body and it's really gentle too. Jessica Alba even swears by them. If you're just starting out though make sure to ease yourself in slowly. I'm noticing by doing my daily stretches that each day I'm a little less stiff and much closer to touching my toes with ease so you can definitely see progress straight away.
So once I've stretched, eaten a yummy breakfast and watched a little bit of Friends (just one episode though) I'm ready to sit down at my laptop and get to work.
